April 14, 2020 Update On Food Delivery Opportunity:

Hello all,

I hope you had a blessed Resurrection weekend! I have a few details to share with you regarding the Food Bank volunteer opportunities:

Food Box Delivery Thursday 5 - 6pm

I need to confirm Thursday afternoon how many volunteers we will have there this week, so please respond to me if you will be helping by emailing: help@lifegj.org

Remain socially distant while helping us deliver 1-2 food boxes to those in our community experiencing hunger!

● Come to the Community Food Bank between 5-6pm to pick-up 1-2 emergency food boxes with address information for the client in need of delivery.

● You will drive up directly behind the back of the CFB warehouse and take the food box(es) off a table that is sanitized after every order.

● Drive to the client address in question, knock on the door and drop the box on the front door step or designated drop off area.

● Leave immediately - do not wait until someone answers the door, do not engage with anyone.

● Report your hours and any issues to the Director at the Community Food Bank via email at the end of your shift (volunteer@foodbankgj.org)

The director is also looking to expand deliveries and is looking for people who would be willing to commit to serve:

M/T/TH/F for either lunchtime delivery (11-noon) or an evening time delivery (5-6pm) We would love for you to consider helping on an ongoing basis if possible. If that's something you or your family can do, please let me know which days/times you would like to commit to during this time.
Thank you for giving up your time to serve our community. We're thankful for each and every one of you!

Office Administrator

April 11, 2020 Update from Pastor Tim:

Dear Church Family,

On this day we pause to consider what Jesus did for us... that He willingly gave His life that we might have life! In this short film  with Jason and Winston we are reminded that "It’s Good Friday not because the day was good, but because it's finished." Thank you Jesus for the paying the ultimate price for us! If you haven't already, please take a moment to watch and reflectChurch Online -or- Facebook to share.

But the story doesn't end on Friday. Sunday is coming! And like one of Jesus' closest followers... Doubt may be where your story begins, but it doesn't have to be where your story ends. An encounter with the Risen Lord changes everything! Please join us for a special online Easter service premiering Saturday at 6pm. Even better, be part of introducing your friends to Jesus by sharing an invite on social media!

Right now there is a spiritual hunger and an openness to the gospel in so many people's hearts... In the midst of this crisis I've been hearing great stories of people responding to Jesus! Please pray with me that this weekend MANY people encounter the Risen Savior and find life in Him!

Also, this weekend we prayerfully remember those in our valley and around the world who are suffering in the midst of this ongoing crisis. We have some great opportunities to serve locally in practical ways:

-Easter Sunday: Food box delivery in partnership with Canyon View Vineyard Church, 736 24 1/2 Road. Help deliver 24,000lbs of food to those in need! Arrive CVVC 10am Sunday and deliver a box. Help needed at 9am as well to put together food boxes.
-This Upcoming Week: Food box delivery in partnership with Community Food Bank. We need multiple volunteers on weekday evenings. Please email us and we’ll get you details: help@lifegj.org

For all service opportunities please practice good social distancing, wear a mask, bring gloves if you have them and make sure you're healthy and low risk while volunteering.

This weekend as we reflect on the most significant event in history... "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe..." (Eph 1:18-19 NASB)

And all of this because He Is Risen!

Blessings to you my friends!

April 3, 2020 UPDATE - Food Delivery Opportunity Sunday, April 5.

Dear Church Family,

Last night our volunteers helped Community Food Bank pioneer their home delivery program and today we delivered 1600 lbs of groceries to help them re-stock! Because of your generous donations to our Impact Fund we were also able to give an additional gift that will provide 562 more meals to those in need! Thank you Convoy Of Hope for caring about our community and thank you church family!

This Sunday we have another opportunity to partner together and serve those in need in our community!

Pastor Bob at Canyon View Vineyard asked if Life Community Volunteers can again help bag and distribute food to 200 more families. You don't have to sign up to come help, but if you know you're coming please let us know: help@lifegj.org

This Sunday, April 5th if you are not a high risk candidate, here are ways you can help:

  • Come to the Canyon View Vineyard's Young Adult building (just to the West of the Main building - 736 24 1/2 Rd) at 8am Sunday and help pack food boxes.

  • AND / OR Come between 10-12 to pick up a box(es) of food to deliver to the assigned family. CVVC will give you the name(s) and address for the delivery.

  • If you can’t physically be a part of the food outreach, you can pray for God to use the food to open people's hearts to Jesus!

Please keep these things in mind when you serve:

  • When delivering the food utilize safe social distancing. Engage in conversation, show you care, ask what you can pray for and pray for them (at a comfortable distance from them).

  • If you see God move in cool ways please share your experience with us by emailing help@lifegj.org

  • If you have access to a mask and gloves, please bring them for you to utilize while handing the food.

Thanks for BEING the Church in our community!

MARCH 18, 2020 UPDATE

Dear Life Community Church,

In respect of the President and CDC’s new recommendation restricting gatherings to 10 persons or less, our church leadership has agreed to host services online and to postpone all church events, gatherings and small groups for at least the next two weeks. We will closely monitor developments in our area and let you know as soon as we can meet again in small groups or large gatherings.

We miss seeing you and are really looking forward to gathering again! In the meantime our staff is working hard to bring you the best online weekend service we can. If you missed this past Sunday's you can watch on our home page. Starting this coming week we will also have resources available for your kids and youth. Please reach out to us if you need recommendations on ways your Life Group or Bible Study can meet virtually. Also, please reach out personally to each other and stay connected in prayer and community.

This week our online service will be available beginning Saturday 6pm on our website: lifegj.org. Also tune in on Facebook, Saturday 6pm or Sunday 10am... we plan to offer an interactive Facebook watch party with live comments and prayer requests. If you haven't already done so, stay up to date by clicking here and "liking" our Facebook page. We will also be updating you during our online services with opportunities to serve in our church family and our community during this crisis.

Please direct any prayer requests OR Reach out us to us with any personal needs BY CLICKING HERE. You can also leave a message on the main church line: 970-639-0041. Additionally we have a Facebook group set up where we share prayer needs within our church family. If you are not currently part of that group click here to request to be added.

In this unprecedented time I encourage you to BE the church and to love and support those in your circle of influence. Many people feel very isolated right now... let them know they're loved and not alone! I look forward to sharing some important thoughts with you this coming weekend at our online service. Please pray... As a staff we are praying for you as you navigate this incredibly challenging season we all find ourselves in. Peace to you in the midst of these crazy days!
